In My Mailbox (18)

Hello there! If you’re still here after my little disappearing act, thank you! I really need to deal with the broadband problem. Good thing I have other options so I’m still online. It’s funny how I’m not able to post when in fact I have 5 reviews ready to post!

This week, I got some of the books in my dying-to-read list. I’m ecstatic about them and I really, really want to read them right away. If I don’t have to prepare a blog tour review, I would grab them from the shelf. Oh heck. I can see it from where I’m sitting. It’s there. Looking at me. Whispering: read me, read me, read me. I need the strength to resist!

*coughs self-consciously* anyhoo…I guess that’s not why you’re here, right? Moving on to IMM – an awesome Meme created by Kristi of The Story Siren that encourages bloggers to interact and of course, for us to discover what other bloggers got for review, bought, borrowed, etc!

Sorry for the bad photo!

For Review:

Forbidden by Jana Oliver – another unsolicited copy from the amazing publicist at Pan Macmillan UK! You rock, girl. ;) Thank you for this. Been waiting for months for this!

Airborne by Constance Sharper – A book about harpies. Sounds good! A fellow Pinay blogger reviewed it a while ago and since then I’ve been super excited for this.

Watched by Sharde Richardson (signed finished copy) – I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time! I’m glad it didn’t get lost. This book is a paranormal comedy. How awesome is that? I love humor in YA.

Have You Seen Ally Queen? by Deb Fitzpatrick (ARC) – an unsolicited but wanted copy from Australia! I loved the first ARC I got from them, Dress Rehearsal. I have a feeling I’m starting to love contemporary titles.

Two Moon Princess by Carmen Ferreiro-Esteban – Wow. I requested this title a year ago (?) or at least that’s what I remember? I didn’t even expect to get this because I thought it was lost! Another interesting bit: the author grew up in Galicia, Spain. Did I mention how much I’d like to go there?

Veiled by SB Niccum – about unborn spirits. The synopsis of this is enough for me to crave it.

Last but not the least…

Prized by Caragh O’Brien (ARC) - !!! I reviewed Birthmarked last year, which was also the first ever review copy I got from a publisher, and I loved loved loved it. I’ve been DYING to get the sequel. When I found it on the table in the living room, I literally squealed. (And I don’t usually squeal. Ever. Just this one time.)

Outside by Shalini Boland (ebook) – post-apocalyptic romance <3 J And Shalini is such a nice author!

From Netgalley:

The Shattering by Karen Healey – Loved Karen’s first book – Guardian of the dead! So I’m totally going for her next book.

Thank you to Lauren at Pan Macmillan UK, Constance, Sharde, Claire at Fremantle Press, Tangle Press, Silvina, Caragh, Roaring Brook Press, Shalini, Netgalley and Little Brown!

What did you get in your mailbox? Leave your IMM link and I’ll visit all of you! Promise. I have time now.

  1. Haha don't you just hate it when books start whispering to you? I get that a lot. They're so darn persuasive.

Wow Precious, you had a great week! Totally intrigued by Airbourne - harpies?! Awesome! And I've been wanting to read Watched too. You must tell me how they are :D So happy you got Prized, I know how much you loved the first book! I seriously need to get on that series ASAP. I have a print copy of The Shattering but haven't read it yet, so if you read it before me, please feel free to coerce me :)

    Happy reading!

  15. I really prefer the UK versions of the Demon Trappers books! I didn't love Forbidden as much as book one, but I hope you do! I've been debating on whether to read The Shattering -- can't wait to see what you think!
