Character Interview with Noli + Innocent Darkness Swag Pack Giveaway!

*This is supposed to go up tomorrow, Feb. 12 but I'm not 100% sure that I can go online tomorrow, so I'm posting early.

Hi everyone! Today, I have another character interview for you. I had the chance to ask a bunch of questions to a very interesting character, Noli, from Innocent Darkness – Suzanne Lazear’s debut. Stick around for a swag giveaway later.

First, can you introduce yourself to us?

I'm Noli Braddock and I live with my mother in Los Angeles.  My brother's an aeronaut so I don't see him much.

What are your wishes and desires?

Don't tell my mother, but I really want to go to the university and become a botanist.  She thinks the only way to save our family is through me marrying well, but I think with a little time and hard work I can do it myself, thank you very much.

Can you tell us some of the things you did that landed you in reform school?

~Blushes~ Well, I have this flying car, the Big Bad Pixy Mobile.  It's a Hestin-Dervish Pixy.  My father always said he'd fix it up.  Since he's not here to do it.  I spent years fixing it.  My best friend V and I took it out for a test drive and we crashed it...we might also have been flying it over a residential area unregistered and with no operators permit.

What do you think of the Otherworld? Can you describe it to us?

The Otherworld is very different from the mortal realm.  Not only is it filled with magic and magical beings, but it’s made of magic.  The rules are different there—time runs different, the laws are different, even their customs and beliefs are different.  It’s like something out of a faery story book—but real, and that makes it even more beautifully terrifying.  The scariest thing is that like everything else, the magic has to eat, or it—and everything within—will fade away and die.  The magic feeds on the blood of mortal girls.  ~shivers~  But the Otherworld and the mortal realm are symbiotic.  The mortal realm, our realm, gets our creativity from the magic that leaks into our world from theirs, if the Otherworld fades away, not only will all the magical creatures die, but our world will never me the same.

Are you convinced that you being sacrificed is 100% essential for the faeries?

My best friend V thinks there has to be another way.  But we’re not sure what that is…yet.

Which is better: reform school or the Otherworld?

Hmmm…At Findlay House they beat us until we became proper young ladies, in the Otherworld they kept me against my will and wanted to kill me.  It’s quite the toss up.  I’m just glad that I managed to get home to my mother in the end.  When they say be careful what you wish for, they really mean it.
