About Tiffany:   

Tiffany Truitt was born in Peoria, Illinois. A self-proclaimed Navy brat, Tiffany spent most of her childhood living in Virginia, but don’t call her a Southerner. She also spent a few years living in Cuba. Since her time on the island of  one McDonald's and Banana Rats (don't ask) she has been obsessed with traveling. Tiffany recently added China to her list of travels (hello inspiration for a new book).

Besides traveling, Tiffany has always been an avid reader. The earliest books she remembers reading belong to The Little House on the Prairie Series. First book she read in one day? Little Woman(5th grade). First author she fell in love with? Jane Austen in middle school. Tiffany spent most of her high school and college career as a literary snob. She refused to read anything considered “low brow” or outside the “classics.”

Tiffany began teaching middle school in 2006. Her students introduced her to the wide, wonderful world of Young Adult literature. Today, Tiffany embraces popular Young Adult literature and uses it in her classroom. She currently teaches the following novels: The Outsiders, Speak, Night, Dystopian Literature Circles: The Hunger Games, The Giver, The Uglies, and Matched.

Cover Reveal + WoW in One: A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty

Hi everyone! So...as you all know, the Uni is taking almost all of my time (because I still manage to read books.) Today, I'd like to introduce you to a stunning YA release: A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty.

Why I Chose This:


To be honest, I'm a real sucker for Aussie YA contemporaries. For some reason, all Aussies write amazing contemps! Heart-touching, unforgettable ones...I'm sure this one will be, too. Lots of people love Jaclyn Moriarty but I haven't read any of her books...this is going to be my first.

Cover Reveal: The Torn Wing by Kiki Hamilton

You guys. I know it’s way past midnight here in my country. And I know I’m supposed to sleep. But after reading a special email from one of my favorite authors ever, Kiki Hamilton, I decided to post this asap.

Today is the cover reveal for The Torn Wing, the sequel to The Faerie Ring!

First Impression:

One word: Gorgeous. Okay, it’s not as pretty and as colorful as the other covers I’ve seen and loved. But the black background with the floating/falling petals give an unearthly effect. I like that the ‘torn wing’ was emphasized by the absence of color on the left side. But this is my favorite part of the cover: A bloody escape, a deadly threat, a shocking revelation…

As one of the very lucky persons to read the manuscript of The Faerie Ring, I’ve known for two years now that Kiki Hamilton knows how to shock and engage people with her words. I loved The Faerie Ring and I’m so excited to read this!

Covers to Love + Trailers to Watch

Covers to Love. I have three covers. Just discovered the two today.

 

First is…Falling for You by Lisa Schroeder.

Initial Reaction: Smoking hot, romantic YA! I like the whole kissing in the rain concept. The look on the guy's face is just so...gentle (which is the opposite of what I imagine him to be after reading the synopsis.) I miss reading contemp love stories! That makes me even more excited for this.

  

FALLING FOR YOU, about a teen girl who relives the love of a dangerous boy, and unravels the secrets that haunt her family, as she hovers between life and death, searching for light amid the darkness--and a reason to hold on.

Next is the perfect book for hardcore Julie Kagawa fans aka people who would love to get their hands on a paperback compilation of all the novellas of The Iron Fey Series. The Iron Legends by Julie Kagawa.

 

Intial Reaction: Where did Ash and Puck from the front cover and back cover of The Iron Knight go??? And where did Meghan go??? It would have been better if the models from the previous covers appeared in this cover. But I still like the swirly font and curves.

Last up is Keeper of The Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. It’s MG Fantasy – the perfect, fun, light, exciting read for everyone.

Initial Reaction: OMG, I want this. After reading the synopsis (below,) I knew I just had to!

Well, technically..it’s just ONE trailer. It’s for Winter’s Light by M.J. Hearle, the sequel to Winter’s Shadow, is coming out on May 1, 2012. This belongs to a paranormal romance series.

Waiting on Wednesday: Perfection + These Broken Stars + Two Gorgeous Covers

So for this Wednesday, I got a little too excited. In fact, I won’t be featuring 2012 books but 2013 books!  As usual, the books fall under the science-fiction/dystopia/post-apocalyptic umbrella.

Perfection by J.L. Spelbring

Why I Chose This:

I like novels that tackle genetics and perfection. I enjoyed Chosen Ones by Tiffany Truitt and I have a feeling – a strong feeling – that I’ll enjoy this one, too.

I’m sad, curious and excited all at the same time for Ellyssa. When emotions are thrown in the equation, things get complicated because engineered people tend to act on their feelings instead of acting on orders/rules.

Why I Chose This:

A soldier?? Reminds me of Chase from Article 5 (which was so awesome.) I loved Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan so I think I might like this, too. I really enjoy stories about two people meeting, drawn together by unfortunate circumstances. I can sense a bit of love-hate-thing here. Hope this meets my expectations!
