May 21st is Suffocate's Book Birthday + Giveaway!

Hi everyone! It's the release date of Suffocate by S.R. Johannes! And you can win an ebook of Suffocate today.

Suffocate is the first novelette in THE BREATHLESS series. It is a 15,000 word young adult thriller that combines the dystopic and science fiction genres.

About Suffocate:

For centuries, the world outside the Biome has been unlivable. Today, marks the first time anyone will attempt to leave the suffocating ecosphere. Eria is not worried because her scientist father has successfully tested the new Bio-Suit many times. It's a celebratory day until something goes horribly wrong. In the midst of tragedy, Eria uncovers a deep conspiracy that affects the very air she breathes.

If those responsible find out what she knows, they won't stop hunting her until she takes her last breath.

The 2nd novella in the series, CHOKE, is scheduled for Fall 2012. The 3rd, EXHALE, is scheduled for Winter 2013.

  1. Maybe nuclear war??

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. To be able to keep track of the bad guys. That's my guess anyway. You know, bad guys can't breath inside with out some kind of obvious help so they can be easily seen.

  3. I'd guess it might be an accumulation of envirnomental disasters -- maybe :)

  4. A biological weapon destroyed it.

  5. I really have no idea but wouldn't it be interesting if it had something to do with cigarette smoking?!

  6. Deforestation and collapse of ozone layer due to pollution.

  7. Thank you so much for your support for my new release! I love my book bloggers :)

  8. This sounds so good! I saw the cover on a few blogs and I must have it! I love the idea of the novelettes. I'm reading a few series like that right now.

  9. I would like to thank you for an increadoble book giveaway that looks & sounds utterly facinating, and also a genre that i love. In response to your question my thoughts on this would be that it is something to do with life and how one cannot live or breathe outside the 'Biome'. It could be to do with a Virus or how our bodies cannot cope with the atmosphere outside or the air (O2). There are so many ideas and leaving me in suspense only makes me want to read & find out! Thank you x

  10. i'm gonna say nobody loved the earth like they should so it was overcome with pollution and all kinds of chemicals and things that aren't biodegradable and they just all kept building up until the area was unlivable.

  11. I am going to have to go with the popular theory that due to lack of care the Earth has basically become uninhabitable due to pollution and atmospheric changes.
