Hi everyone! Welcome to Fragments of Life! Look around and see if you like my little virtual home. If you do, you’re welcome to visit anytime you want! Comment below with your links so I can visit you too!

It’s time for another blog hop! As you all know, Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event that gives readers and bloggers the chance to get to know other people who share their passion and interests, as well as to discover blogs. Join theHop!

This week’s question is:

Share your favorite post from the last month and tell us why it’s close to your heart!

My favorite post is my interview with Marie Lu for my blog event, DystopianDomination. Legend just happens to be my favorite dystopian for the year! M is a very cool and fun person to talk to. I loved asking her questions about Legend but what I loved more was reading her answers! They’re very interesting and when I look back to her novel, I could see the connection. It’s great to be able to know about it in a deeper way.  Plus, her fan art is wicked cool!

Don’t forget to enter my contests, if you’re interested!
All the contests are open internationally, aside from the Luminous giveaway!

Happy Friday!

Zomg. I am a fan of The Merry Sisters of Fate (Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff and Tessa Gratton). I love their short stories and their novels. Shiver and The Replacement are two of my favorite novels ever! I’m excited to read Blood Magic. In fact, I’m dying to read it! (Free copies at BEA??) Aww…I’m halfway across the world. How can I go there? I wish I could find my book faery soon!

Don’t forget to enter my contests! Both are open internationally! :)

Win: Playing Hurt by Holly Schindler (loved this too! It’s a steamy summer read!)

This week’s question is:

"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series...which one would it be and why?"

There are lots of series that I would love to be in! But I'm just going to choose three series. My favorites.
#1: The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa. Why? Action, romance, suspense, danger, betrayal and magic everywhere?? Why not?

#2: Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I would love to be a part of this magical and beautiful world - the Tunnels!

#3: The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Would love to kick demon butt! Everything in TMI is exciting and heartpounding.

What's your answer? Please share the links to your posts below so I can visit too!

Book Blogger Hop

Hi everyone! It’s time for another blog hop! As you all know, Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event that gives readers and bloggers the chance to get to know other people who share their passion and interests, as well as to discover blogs. Join the Hop!

It’s been so long when I last joined the hop. I kinda missed it!

This week’s question is:

"Do you ever wish you would have named your blog something different?"

Nope. I like the name of my blog – Fragments of Life. Through books, I get to see pieces of life weaved within the pages and within the lives of fictional characters that inspire, provoke my thoughts and make me feel different things.

Three more days before RiYA contests end! Join now!

Welcome to Fragments of Life! Feel free to look around!
Have a nice weekend!

Book Blogger Hop

About the Hop:

Book Blogger Hop is a wonderful opportunity for readers and bloggers to make new friends and to discover blogs of their interest and passion. Through this meme, I've met friendly bloggers who share interesting insights and ideas with me.

Question for this week:

What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?

Answer:

The Snowball Effect by Holly Nicole Hoxter. Unlike most books that I read, this wasn’t paranormal. This was contemporary. Several things made me decide that this book was significant to me:

1.      I had similarities with the main character.
2.      The lessons passed on to me through the dialogue was very believable and in line with how I think. The idea that if you believe everything happens for a reason (which I do believe), then you believe that you can’t make a mistake, you can’t make a wrong decision…because everything you do was set, predestined and eventually leads to your fate. I really liked that part.

Since reading The Snowball Effect, I learned lots of things. Life is too short to have regrets or to even miss anything. But trying new things, in the case of the novel, trying to date someone else aside from the guy she’s been with for years was both advantageous and disadvantageous. Advantageous because she learned from him. Disadvantageous because they had to part. For me, there is no point of staying with someone if you would part with him. I’m not fond of risking emotions quite so often. Studying the consequences of every decision is important because these decisions will lead me to my future. Since then, I realized that ‘trying new flavors’ was something not suited for me. ‘Cause after 4 years, I’m still inlove with the same guy. There’s nothing boring about 4 years. There’s something new every once in a while. Time is too precious to waste with anyone else.

Question for this week:

What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?

Answer:

For me, the plot and the characters are important. But I'm more interested in the characters themselves. If the character is fully developed, the story will come out wonderful. The story revolves around the characters, that's enough to keep the story going.

And Christmas Countdown started a few days ago! We have books and swag up for grabs:

Question for this week:

"What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs?  Is it the reviews, author guest posts, articles, giveaways, or something else entirely?"

Answer:

I like all of them! But of all those posts, I love reviews and giveaways. I'm a contest hunter. Reviews. I need reviews because if I would depend on my bookish impulse on buying books, I'd be so broke I won't even have money to go to school! So, yes, I do read reviews! Lots of them.

And I have an announcement!

My blog event with Kai from Amaterasu Reads will start on Monday! It's called Christmas Countdown. But wait. It's not just a countdown of some sort. It will have tons of giveaways for International and US readers! There will be awesome signed books up for grabs and a prize pack of great YA reads!

Help us spread the word!

This week's question: "When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?"

For me, I stop. I have to stop because I want to enjoy the story as much as possible. I read something else then when I feel that I can read it again, I try. I'll be honest. There's a book here in my TBR. It's been there for months now. And I really can't get into the story. I've been devouring other books - books that I'm excited about - instead of reading it. But I've devised a reading plan now. I'm going to include it in the plan so I would be able to finish it once and for all.

This week's question: Do you judge a book by its cover?

When it comes to book judging, I have three steps. First, I look at the cover and yes, judge by the cover. Why? In my opinion, the cover should summarize what the story is with images. If the images aren't that good or if they don't have that vibe that I'm looking for, it's most likely not gonna attract me. Second, to give books the fairness that they deserve, I read the book description. If it intrigues me or not, I judge by that. Third, I read reviews of that book. I'm very interested to know what my fellow bloggers think of a book before buying it.

Yes, I judge initially but I don't base my final decision on that initial judgement. Because that would simply be unfair.

What about you?

Easy. It's a bookstore called Fullybooked. They have a branch in a mall near my university, so I visit quite often. They are the most updated bookstore here in my country.

This week's question: How many blogs do you follow?

As of now, I follow 349 blogs. For me, it's important to connect with other bloggers and to have a wide range of reviews to read. I tend to buy books based on their covers. And to avoid that, I've started to base my decision on the reviews of these 349 bloggers. And...I just love reading reviews + interviews. It's a part of me.
